Cookies & Device Storage

Last updatedMay 22, 2026
Review cadenceat least every 6 months and before any new analytics, auth, or admin-session storage is introduced.

1. Required vs optional storage

Tripanomics uses required browser storage for authentication, security, and consent state. Optional analytics storage is created only after you allow analytics.

2. Current storage inventory

StorageTypeRequired?Purpose
Supabase auth cookiesFirst-party cookiesYesKeep you signed in and refresh the session securely
tripanomics.analytics-consent.v1localStorageYesRemember whether this browser allows analytics
ph_* identifiers managed by PostHogCookie and localStorageNoProduct analytics after you allow analytics
tripanomics_admin_sudoCookieYes for staff onlyShort-lived admin step-up session
tripanomics_impersonateCookieYes for staff onlyRead-only admin impersonation context

3. Analytics consent

On a fresh visit, Tripanomics does not initialize PostHog or send analytics ingest traffic until your consent state allows analytics. You can reject analytics, allow analytics, or change the choice later from Settings > Preferences.

Analytics consent affects product-analytics storage only. Required cookies and storage used for authentication, security, fraud prevention, admin safety, and consent-state preservation may still be used even if you reject analytics.

Itinerary generation, server-side enrichment lookups, and payment processing do not require PostHog analytics cookies. Those services may still process the information needed to provide the requested feature, as described in the Privacy Policy and Subprocessors page.

4. Third-party domains

Some third-party flows can set their own cookies on their own domains, including hosted checkout, OAuth, map services, and embedded vendor pages. Those cookies are controlled by the third party rather than by Tripanomics.

If you follow an affiliate, booking, map, OAuth, payment, or other external link, the third party may use its own cookies and tracking technologies under its own policies.

5. Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through browser settings. If you block required storage, some parts of Tripanomics, such as sign-in and account security features, may not function correctly.

6. How to ask questions

If you have a cookies or tracking question, email support@tripanomics.com.
